Dr Adarsh Kaniyoor

Dr. Adarsh Kaniyoor is a materials scientist with expertise in carbon nanomaterials, statistical data analysis, and semiconductor innovation. With over 15 years of research experience—from a PhD in carbon nanomaterials to postdoctoral work at leading institutions including the University of Cambridge—he has contributed to pioneering advancements in carbon nanotube fibre production, graphene electronics, and data-driven 2D device optimisation. Currently, he leads projects at a UK-based SME, driving innovation in 2D materials by applying Lean Six Sigma methodologies to optimise semiconductor processes. He is passionate about statistical thinking in engineering, often leading workshops and mentoring colleagues in Design of experiments and statistical analyses.
Dr Smitha Hegde

Dr. Smitha Hegde is a molecular biologist with over a decade of research experience, specialising in bacterial cell science and single-cell imaging. Her work bridges microbiology, biophysics, and molecular diagnostics — with a strong focus on developing cost-effective tools for healthcare and research. Smitha has led and contributed to projects involving protein extraction and purification, low-cost nucleic acid testing, and innovative workflows for cellular analysis. Alongside her research, she is an experienced educator, currently teaching biosciences and mathematics at Anglia Ruskin University. Her passion lies in applying scientific rigour to real-world problems, particularly in improving accessibility to diagnostic technologies.
